LancasterISD Kicks Off 5th Annual District-wide College Go Get It Week September 15

On behalf of Lancaster Independent School District, we invite you to join us as we celebrate our 5th Annual College Go Get It Week on Monday, September 15 - Friday, September 19, 2014, as part of our “More Than A Diploma” Initiative. This year’s theme, Destination: College Bound, is centered around our district’s focus on Aviation.  Each day we will have activities and workshops that will help guide student’s exploration of higher education, college majors, scholarships, financial literacy and college life.

Lancaster ISD has declared September 15-19, 2014 College Go Get It Week. This week will kickoff with a host of college readiness workshops, college paraphernalia and information throughout each K-12 campus. Students, faculty and staff will focus on information about preparing forcollege, getting into college, and graduating with More Than A Diploma.

Lancaster ISD campuses are supporting the college curriculum in a few weeks and taking time to discuss their college alma mater. Along with school staff, many community partners will volunteer to assist and support College Go Get It Week.

Additionally, the LHS annual College Fair will be held on the campus of Cedar Valley College on September 18th from 6pm-8pm in the “M” Building. Cedar Valley College is located at 3030 North Dallas Avenue, Lancaster, Texas.

Over 60 college recruiters will be represented, and we anticipate more than 1,000 students from grades 9-12 to attend with their parents.
