Mrs. Vickie Carter
Library and Information Services Assistant
Education: Associate Degree in Education, Degree in CMA, B.A. in Education with a minor in Criminal Justice, M.A. in Education (in progress).
Experience: I joined the Lancaster ISD family in 2003, Certified Medical Assistant, Library and Information Services.
I graduated high school from Wilmer-Hutchins in 1974, after graduating from High School my goal was to help people. My dream was to become a doctor but after having a family that changed. I went on to become a Certified Medical Assistant.
It wasn't what I dreamed of becoming but it was close enough for me to interact with adults and children. After 13 years of nursing, I wanted to further my education, this is when my sister introduced me to the Education field. I became a Substitute Teacher for the Lancaster District in 2002. During this year my heart went all the way out for the staff, children and their families. I knew then my calling was in education. 2003 I joined the Lancaster District permanent, furthered my education with a Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am now pursuing my Master's Degree in Education.
My goal is to teach every child that enters my doors, the basic reading and learning skills necessary to become productive citizens. My philosophy, "nothing beats a failure but a child that tries."
